"A well knackered Salford Dave here, went to the Crescent Pub Gig last night, I thought its a nice evenin' I'll walk it! Got about 150 metres and my Doc's were killin me! I've had em for about 5 years and they wont be broken! it took me about an hour to get there, next time, trainers!
When I finally got there, I was on me'todd, just a couple of band people setting up, I thought here we go, its gonna be one of those nights, but eventually somebody must have got onto 'rent a crowd' and the place was packed. The first band 'Drama' seemed such nice lads until they started playing their rock thang, its then I realised the huge black boxy thing I was sat next to was a speaker, it literally blew my sunglasses off! Next up was Pop Fosters and yes its true I do have a crush on their drummer Sara, there I've said it! I love their stuff even though they're not from Salford, their songs are short snappy and in your face missus! they managed to get through 47 songs in a 25 minute set (you do the maths)
and finally Cyril' Kaoss. What can I say, they all remind me of my uncle Vinny (yeah the one in prison) but I'll hand it to em' they deliver a nice slice of Punk pie to which I was stuffing my face with!
It was Nighty's first time as a gig promoter and apart from a few technical problems blah blah blah it was a great night and I met some great people, especially Grayso and the Change's Foz, so if this is a taste of what's to come in the future its fair to say Salford Music is now officially 'LIVE'

Great pub and fantastic selection of real ales - make sure you allow plenty of time to try some of them (you will stuggle to get through the all in one go!) Good atmosphere and great bands - will definitely be going again.

Stumbled across this place in the week when there was an Irish band on. Place was rockin, music fab and some weird and wonderful beer on the board. Food good and best of all value for money! Band apparently play every Thursday so going back next week for more!!!!!! Get down there quick!

Get yer mates down to this pub, crackin beers and ale. Doesn't look much from the outside but once you get inside it's a place with small rooms and blokes getting stuck into all the ale you don't find at a modern pub. Cheap too, give it a go, you'll be back before long..........

Went in this pub during the beerfest week, pub was buzzing with loads of guest beers, didn't intend to stay in there all day but with so many beers to sample came out having drunk most of them! Great place just near Salford University. Try it for yourself!

What a hidden gem! Great food, good atmosphere and most of all a wealth of beers and ales, you will not be disappointed but you may have to keep going back to keep up with the choice on offer! Try going when the bands are on, that's if you can get in, it's normally packed out!!!

The Crescent Is A Delightful Pub With Plenty Of Character! I Would Most Definaltely Take A Trip There Again! x
one of the best pubs still in manchester to visit if your in the area..or should i say salford..now with the oxford and the kings arms its worth the bus ride up and the walk down again.does a good selection of cider and all is written on the blackboard on both sides...excellent juke box and good service..the bus stops are right out side the pub...

This is a pub I always read rave reviews for and thought I would never visit, but this year we made it and what a great place. Excellent choice of well kept beers.

The Crescent lives on! This tremendous pub is back to
the top of its game. All the elements are there, great
beer, friendly staff and authentic surroundings that
create a lively atmosphere. This is the type of pub
that all others should aspire to. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic place, A real classic with great beers, friendly staff and patrons and reasonably priced.
Looks awful from the outside, but worth many a return visit. The beer festivals they run are great too!
Legend has it that Karl Marx used to drink here...

Excellent range of well-kept ales and selection of mainland European beers. Efficient service. Excellent value, home-cooked food. A gem! My second home while a student at the nearby university.

The most honest boozer I've been in for a long while, proper drinkers pub.
Big range of lesser known ales which were very good. Clearly not been decorated in years and all the better for it - beer 'garden' is also quality.
Food looked excellent, though I didn't have more than a couple of the excellent sandwiches on the bar.
Would recommend this place as a top boozer to while away a couple of hours at
